Every project below shows what it actually cost: from RM 14,000 for a compact Cyberjaya kitchen to RM 62,000 for a Damansara Heights bungalow. Builds took 3 to 6 weeks.

P-01 · Damansara Heights bungalow

A 1998 galley, rebuilt for three generations of cooks.

ABefore

Beige melamine from 1998: swollen chipboard under the sink, doors that never closed flush, one working drawer, a tiled ledge instead of a worktop.

BBuilt

Acrylic doors on moisture-resistant plywood carcasses, a 3-metre quartz island, Blum drawers throughout, and a tall pantry that swallowed four cupboards of clutter.

P-02 · Setia Alam terrace

The island the developer said would never fit.

ABefore

A developer-standard 8ft run with the fridge blocking the window, no landing space by the hob, wall cabinets too high for the owner to reach.

BBuilt

We took 40cm from an unused store room, dropped wall cabinets to 1.4m and fitted a 2.4m island that seats three. Breakfast now happens where a wall used to be.
